Description
Green Antique Chest made of wood with original lock (France, c.1910).
This antique wooden chest was built with solid pine wood during the first world war and subsequently restored. This small chest was used as a luggage suitcase for soldiers and military personnel during the First World War. The metal lock is believed to be the original lock and is still intact. As per the construction of this wooden chest, we highlight its “dovetail” assembly characteristic of past times when the use of glue was practically non-existent. The construction of furniture was based on the perfect fit of the different pieces of wood, and the “dovetail” assembly was one of the star assemblies in the art of carpentry. ‘
We love its irreplicable lime green patina.
