Japanese Sendai Isho-dansu large cedar and iron tansu, Meiji-Taishō period (c. 1890-1925).

Original Japanese Tansu from the Meiji-Taishō period (c. 1890-1925), from northern Japan and belonging to the Sendai Isho-dansu typology.

Made of sugi (Japanese cedar) wood with kiri interiors and original wrought iron fittings, it is distinguished by its elevated structure, side handles and metal reinforcements, characteristic of traditional Japanese transportable tansu.

The generous proportions make it a functional piece for contemporary storage, while providing authenticity and wabi-sabi character.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.
