This Japanese low tansu was made during the Taishō period (1912–1926), a time of quiet transition in everyday Japanese life. Without major breaks from tradition, domestic interiors gradually evolved: spaces became more flexible and furniture began to better respond to practical, everyday use.
Fabricado en cedro japonés (Cryptomeria japonica), una madera ligera, aromática y resistente a la humedad, este tansu combina una estructura sencilla con una organización muy funcional. Presenta dos compartimentos superiores con puertas correderas y tres cajones inferiores, pensados para guardar objetos de uso diario de forma ordenada y accesible.
La pátina es natural y homogénea, con marcas del tiempo coherentes con su antigüedad, que aportan carácter sin alterar su equilibrio visual. Su formato bajo y compacto lo hace especialmente versátil: puede funcionar como mueble auxiliar, aparador bajo o pieza de apoyo en interiores contemporáneos que valoran la autenticidad y la historia.
