This Japanese low cabinet dates from the Taishō period (1912–1926), a time of gentle transition in everyday life in Japan. Without breaking away from tradition, domestic interiors slowly became more flexible, and furniture evolved to better suit daily use and changing lifestyles.

Made from paulownia wood (Paulownia spp.), a material long valued for its lightness, stability and natural resistance to humidity, this piece reflects a clear sense of balance. Traditionally used to store important belongings, paulownia brings a calm and grounded feel. The cabinet features two upper sliding-door compartments and three lower drawers with original metal handles, arranged in a simple and practical way.

The warm patina, visible grain and subtle signs of age add depth and character without excess. A quiet, well-proportioned piece, ideal as a low cabinet, sideboard or supporting element in contemporary interiors that value authenticity and calm.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.

Give a point of originality to your home with a unique piece, which merges with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This antique base cabinet can be combined with any of our trunks or with our available antique wooden bowls.
