This small Japanese cabinet dates from the Taishō period (1912–1926), a time when domestic interiors gradually adapted to more flexible everyday living while remaining rooted in tradition. Furniture from this era is defined by its simplicity, functionality and balanced proportions.

Made from paulownia wood (Paulownia spp.), a lightweight and stable material commonly used for everyday furniture in Japan, the piece is organized in a clear and practical way. It features an upper sliding-door compartment, decorated with a subtle traditional motif, and several lower drawers designed for easy and well-structured storage.

The wood shows a natural patina, with gentle wear and surface marks that reflect age and use without overwhelming the piece. Compact in size and easy to place, it works well as a side cabinet, small chest or functional accent in contemporary interiors.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.

Give a point of originality to your home with a unique piece, which merges with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This antique chest of drawers with sliding door can be combined with any of our antique armchairs or sideboards available.
