Pair of Thonet / TON bentwood chairs from the early 20th century, closely related to the design language of the Vienna Secession, where clarity, lightness and function were central. These chairs were designed for everyday use, with balanced proportions and an understated presence.
Made from bent beechwood, using the technique pioneered by Thonet and later continued by TON, the chairs stand out for the quality of their curves and structural stability. Both feature classic curved backrests; one chair includes a perforated seat, a common variation in this typology.
The surfaces show an even, natural patina with minor signs of wear consistent with age. A versatile pair, suitable for dining areas, cafés, studios or contemporary interiors with a historical reference.
They are undoubtedly true Thonet chairs; although most of them no longer have any identifying markings or stamps, one of them still bears the original Thonet label.
The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.
Give a point of originality to your home with these unique pieces, which merge with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This pair of antique Thonet chairs can be combined with any of our trunks or with our available antique tv furniture.
