The cabinet features a well-structured arrangement of drawers in varying sizes, reflecting the practical logic of traditional Japanese furniture. It is entirely crafted from Japanese cedar, valued for its light weight, stability and durability.

The original metal hardware, including understated handles and distinctive circular lock plates, is characteristic of late 19th-century tansu. The surface shows a deep, natural patina, with signs of wear consistent with its age, enhancing its authenticity and presence.

A balanced and expressive tansu, ideal as a chest of drawers, auxiliary cabinet or focal piece in contemporary, Japanese-inspired or wabi-sabi interiors.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.
