Bench for the entrance of a rustic house made of solid wood, natural wood color, with an estimated age of one hundred and fifty years. Our antique bench is made of solid elm wood. It preserves the original assembly and craftsmanship of the nineteenth and twentieth century.
With its sinuous curves and its particular shape, the oriental style of the Qing dynasty is highlighted in every inch.
Each antique bench has been individually restored based on each piece’s needs. For example, some benches had the original assembly damaged and the part was rebuilt while maintaining its original condition as much as possible.
We also found antique benches that their former owner had applied some varnish or layers of paint. In these cases we apply an artisan stripping process with the aim of raising the nobility of the original wood.
It stands out for the wood carving work with its floral details.
In general it was found in a good state of preservation except for the loss of some of the floral details. In these cases, either the floral detail has been restored to the best of our ability or the missing part has been retained without redoing any changes.
It has been waxed with beeswax to fill the pores of the solid elm wood so that it can withstand a hundred more years of life.
Each bench, with its uniqueness and exclusivity, with its own imperfections and wounds of time, gives its particular personality and fills the space with a singular force.
