Description
Wooden bench for entry hall (c.1950)
With antiques ranging from fifty to eighty years old, we have managed to put together a small collection of vintage solid wood benches. All different, all unique, all special, one of a kind pieces… It has been a giant work of patience, time and decisions.
Each vintage wood bench has similar dimensions although no two pieces are alike. Most of these wooden benches are made of solid elm wood, although some are solid pine wood. They preserve the original and handcrafted assembly of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Each vintage stool has been individually restored according to your needs. For example, some benches had the original assembly damaged and the part was rebuilt while maintaining its original condition as much as possible.
We also found antique benches that their former owner had applied some varnish or layers of paint. In these cases we apply an artisan stripping process with the aim of raising the nobility of the original wood. Other vintage benches we have found in perfect condition and it has only been necessary to apply a waxing with beeswax to cover the pores of the solid elm wood and thus be able to resist a hundred years more of life.
Each bench, with its uniqueness and exclusivity, with its own imperfections and wounds of time, gives its particular personality and fills the space with its own strength.
- Age of wood: 50 to 80 years approx.
- Material: Solid elm wood
There are endless places to add a natural wood bench like the ones we propose. We imagine it as a foot-bed stool, or a bedroom stool for daily use, or also as an entrance bench in the hall of your home. Its rustic and at the same time sober appearance is ideal as a decoration element in any room: in the bathroom and even in the hall.
The timeless character of wood allows you to play with existing combinations, and it can combine with modern spaces as well as more rustic spaces.
We also recommend our vintage tables as the perfect complement to these vintage wooden benches.
