Small Japanese drawer cabinet made between the late Meiji period and the early Taishō period, circa 1890–1926. Designed for everyday domestic use, this piece was intended to organize personal items, documents or textiles in a practical and orderly way.

The cabinet features a regular arrangement of multiple drawers, combining functionality with visual balance. It is entirely crafted from paulownia, a wood highly valued in Japan for its light weight, dimensional stability and durability.

The original metal hardware, including understated pull handles and a circular lock plate on one drawer, is characteristic of late 19th-century Japanese furniture. The surface shows a warm, honest patina, with signs of wear consistent with its age, adding authenticity and depth.

A well-proportioned and expressive drawer cabinet, ideal as an auxiliary piece, low chest or statement furniture in contemporary, Japanese-inspired or wabi-sabi interiors.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.

Give a point of originality to your home with a unique piece, which merges with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This small antique chest of drawers can be combined with any of our wooden bowls or with our available antique coffee tables.
