Description
Antique door from an ancient Tibetan Buddhist temple (Tibet, c.1920).
We found this ancient Tibetan door in a lost warehouse in a remote city. It is estimated to be from around the year 1920. And according to what we were told, it was part of the front door of a Buddhist temple in Tibet.
This antique door is in perfect condition and consists of two sheets of solid pine wood.
It maintains the original high-level artistic metal doorknob which provides immense majesty. You can also see the fractal shapes of the metal pieces that were used to give rigidity to the wooden door leaf.
The relief painting originated from and is typical of the Tibetan area. Its shapes and colors are characteristic of Tibetan art, based on great influence from Tantric Buddhism. This influence highlights the bright colors and mandalas that are symbolic and spiritual representations of the two cosmoses of Buddhism: microcosm and macrocosm.
