Japanese storage chest with drawers, made during the Meiji period, late 19th to early 20th century. This piece was designed for storing clothing, textiles or documents, combining a large top compartment with three integrated front drawers.

The chest is entirely crafted from Japanese cedar, a lightweight and stable wood traditionally used for portable storage furniture. The hinged top lid provides wide access to the main compartment, while the lower drawers offer practical organization for smaller items.

The original metal fittings, including corner reinforcements, lock and handles, strengthen the structure and add visual character. The surface shows a deep, authentic patina, with signs of use consistent with its age.

A functional and expressive piece, ideal as a storage chest, low cabinet or accent furniture in wabi-sabi, Japanese-inspired or contemporary interiors.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.

Give a point of originality to your home with a unique piece, which merges with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This antique Japanese chest can be combined with any of our chairs or with our available antique TV furniture.
