Description
Natural linen cushion with black stripes handcrafted from antique linen sack.
DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CUSHION PAD.
Linen sacks of grain were formerly used throughout Europe for their strength, durability, and functionality. Our black stripe sacks of grain were used mainly for the storage of flour. Historically, European lands and properties were divided into various landowners. During the harvest, the wheat of each landowner was taken to the mill to produce flour. Each landowner or family used a different linen sack differentiated by its own signature. This signature consisted of the play of colors and thickness of lines printed on each bag.
For this reason, each natural linen cushion is unique. Some antique sacks have two narrow black lines, others combine wide central lines with narrow lines while other vintage cushions have lines in the center and on the sides. It can truly be said that endless combinations exist for each cushion with vintage black stripes.
They combine perfectly with the wabisabi style of our antique stools and of our antique benches.
