Small vintage footstool made of solid elm wood in white (c.1950).
We have several vintage wooden footstools available of ages between 50 and 100 years old. After months of searching and much collection and selection work, we have managed to find several examples of low wooden footrests.
All of them of different dimensions with an approximate height of 22cm, each low wooden stool has its long history behind it. Each piece has been individually restored according to its needs. Most of these vintage wooden bathroom stools were constructed from solid elm wood, and retain the original assembly of the time.
They were used as work stools in factories and workshops, and still preserved remains of earlier paintings. In these cases, we have proceeded to strip the pieces down in order to recover the original natural wood color.
We have found several of these unique pieces in perfect condition and it was only necessary to apply beeswax to fill the pores of the solid elm wood surfaces so they can endure a hundred more years of life. We decided to apply a white paint with an aged matte effect.
Each wooden footrest is unique, each one has its bumps, its own imperfections and wounds that have accumulated over time, as if it were the diary of its life.
