Antique Chinese Opera Chest with Floral Illustrations from the Imperial Chinese Period (China, c.1890) #8
This oriental chest has been recovered and restored by hand. Estimated to be around 130 years old, our Chinese opera chest is made of solid pine wood. Due to the passage of time of its prolonged use, it exhibits some bumps but in general it presents a good state of conservation.
It is characterized by its illustrations in various colors that have been almost entirely preserved. In these drawings, several very typical floral motifs of the Chinese Imperial era are observed.
We like it for the predominance of green colors both in the floral illustrations and in the metal closure… inimitable.
