Old chest solid wood recovered and restored by hand. Antiquity Estimated about 160 years, approximate year of construction: 1860. This small box, ideal as a gift box, is made of solid pine wood. It is in perfect condition. And hardly any kind of restoration process has been necessary. It is characterized by its illustrations in vermilion red ink that have been preserved in good condition. It also still keeps the metal closure with the original lock intact.
Regarding the construction of this small wooden chest, we highlight its “dovetail” assembly characteristic of bygone eras. In these times and due to the shortage of products to glue, the construction of furniture was based on the perfect fit of the different pieces of wood. And the dovetail assembly was one of the star assemblies in the art of carpentry.
