Antique trunk made of sulfur green wood (Slovakia, c.1910). #8
This antique chest was built with solid pine wood using the dovetail technique.
The metal lock is believed to be the original lock and is still intact. As per the construction of this wooden antique trunk, we highlight its “dovetail” assembly characteristic of past times when the use of glue was practically non-existent.
The construction of furniture was based on the perfect sizing and fit of the different pieces of wood, and the “dovetail” assembly was one of the star assemblies in the art of carpentry.
We love its irreplicable green patina with shades of sulfur.
