– HISTORIC NOTE –
China has been for many centuries a benchmark in the manufacture of vases and articles made of ceramics. Porcelain vases, which were appreciated in high European royal spheres as a symbol of status and power, became especially famous.
Porcelain is a ceramic material basically composed of a composition of a material called kaolin, quartz and feldspar. Said composition is exposed to firing of more than 1000 degrees and acquires exceptional hardness, robustness and transparency. This effect is due to crystallization and the formation of a new mineral called mullite. Currently, porcelain not only has an ornamental use but due to its physical properties it is also used for industrial uses.
