Japanese storage cabinet made during the Taishō period, early 20th century. Originally designed for domestic use, this piece combines a compact vertical format with a clear and functional internal layout.
The cabinet features hinged glass doors with ribbed glass panels, allowing light to pass through while protecting the contents. Inside, it offers well-proportioned shelves suitable for tableware, books or everyday objects. Two lower drawers provide additional storage.
Crafted from Japanese birch and Shorea, with the use of plywood, the cabinet offers structural stability and durability. The surface displays a warm, even patina with signs of age consistent with its period, enhancing its authenticity.
