Description

Antique wooden bowl for centerpiece (c.1900)

  • Approximate age: 120 years
  • Material: Pinewood

Our antique bowl for centerpiece is a unique piece that stands out for:

  1. Their story told through every cut and imperfection.
  2. Its sobriety and simple lines designed for daily use make it an antique object that gives meaning to our present from the past.
  3. It can be used as a decorative bowl on a coffee table or as a decorative magazine rack for books, or even as a flower pot.

The state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique furniture due to the course of the years.

– HISTORIC NOTE –
Wooden kneading bowls have been used since the Middle Ages throughout Europe. Flour was and continues to be a staple food on the European continent. On many occasions, once the flour was obtained from wheat, instead of being stored, it was kneaded directly. This was due to the fear of insect pests that could spoil the flour.
We also recommend our antique trunks as a perfect complement to this antique bowl.
