Square coffee table in solid antique elm wood.
We have built our coffee table with old wood that is more than one hundred years old. We have used solid ancient elm wood that is over a hundred years old. With the idea in mind of building a low coffee table that maintains the type of construction used in the past, we built several copies with similar dimensions although there is not a single piece equal. Each piece of antique wood has been restored with various restoration processes.
Some antique wood planks still had previous coats of paint and a stripping process has been applied to bring out the natural color of the elm wood.
Subsequently, they have only been waxed with beeswax to cover the pores of the solid elm wood and thus be able to withstand a hundred more years of life. It has been a work of months to find and make the best possible selection of antique wood planks in order to built these coffee tables.
Each coffee table is unique, with its own imperfections and wounds of time.
