If you have recently bought a cover of our antique linen cushions, this article will be especially useful for you. Natural linen is a durable and rustic material that always feels like home wherever it is used!
Washing linen
First of all, for a first wash, I suggest that you soak the linen garment in cold water with a few drops of white vinegar overnight, so that the fabric is more flexible and the color is permanently fixed.
Then follow these main steps with every wash, and your clothes will retain all of their original quality.
- Wash at 30° maximum in a washing machine or on a delicate or wool program
- Use a mild detergent, an organic or natural soap, without too many aggressive agents.
- Prefers a low spin.
Tip: If there is a stain, be sure to treat it before going through the washing machine. You can rub it with Marseille soap or white vinegar.
dry linen
It is best to hang your linen clothes outdoors, it dries very quickly and thus you will avoid wrinkles and ironing. And since it’s easy to maintain, you can also put it in the dryer on low heat! If necessary, iron it at medium temperature.
Curiosity : linen is thermoregulatory, which makes it an ideal fabric in all seasons. In fact, it retains heat when it’s cold and provides a feeling of freshness during summer periods. Highly moisture-wicking, this fabric is perfect for summer wear, and is always chic for special occasions.
We have described in a few lines how to wash linen clothes and then dry them. This material is extremely resistant to wear and tear and is perfectly suitable for your home linen (curtains, cushions, tablecloths, sheets, etc.).
