Here we present a compilation of rustic wooden stools recovered and restored by hand. There are antique stools over a hundred years old as well as solid wood footrests carefully crafted by our local artists.
We have traveled hundreds of kilometers to find unique pieces, select them and meticulously restore them. During the recovery process, a bespoke restoration is applied for each antique stool.
The process of restoring antique stools is basically distinguished in two phases. The first phase is the stripping phase where existing varnishes and paints are removed to bring out the original color of the wood. The second phase is the application of beeswax to hydrate and protect the paint. In some cases we have applied a new coat of paint imitating the patina of the natural aging of solid wood.
In some cases, during the recovery process of these old wooden stools, it is necessary to rebuild some parts that over time have been damaged by daily use.
Each wooden stool is restored in a traditional way with all the devotion, and with the aim of preserving the original character of the antique stool. The original traditional paintings of the time and of the area are used. Their imperfections and irregularities make them unique, they make them more genuine.
If you get closer, you will be able to observe the irregularities of each unique piece. Unique pieces that breathe History, that tell us things from the past, each small stool is a unique being in itself.
